Sopitas, is a very lucky guy, one of the few people that have been able to live off what he loves the most, music and football soccer. He collaborates with a daily column in the Mexican newspaper Record, he has a website called sopitas.com which has a little bit more than 2 million unique views per month, (and is going for more!) Until just over a year ago, he worked at a radio station called Reactor 105. In this interview, The Lift tried to find out more about the owner of one of the most famous tweeter accounts in Mexico (with more than 150,873 followers) and here is the result:
A radio station would be perfect if
You could have and especially respect your identity. Music radio stations want to give news, news radio stations want to give music reviews and at the end of the day, they neither give good news nor give music the space it deserves. It is clear for me that in such a wide dial as we have today, there is space for everyone, but at the same time, the fact that radio stations always want to cover more and more ends up leaving them without any expertise, without an identity and especially without an audience which doesn’t listen to stations any more, but they tend to listen to specific programs, as the frequencies have made it impossible to listen to them in a continuous way for a lengthy period of time. Unless of course, your purpose is to torture yourself.
Where would be the perfect Music festival for you?
I reckon that this is very subjective, but one of the festivals I always wanted to go to is the one in Isle Of Wight which takes place en England, or the Big Day Out Festival which tours all around Australia. There are those who rather go to Coachella, Glastonbury, Lollapalooza or The Vive Latino. For me, the perfect festival would be with bands that I have never had the chance to watch such as The Who, David Bowie, Prince, etc. Where at? That is the least of my worries, but would someone say no to Central Park in New York?

It is the most similar thing to true love that a man can ever find. Well, I bet you that there is no man who gets engaged and gives as much to a woman (even if your wife happens to be Scarlett Johansson) than what he gives to his soccer team… and even so, there are those who say this in only “a game”.
If I could get you an interview with anyone in the world, who would it be?
Do I have to pick only one person? Well, I think I would chose Banksy, not so much for the mystery around him, but because I would love to know the way he sees the world on an every-day-basis. I would probably just take a newspaper with me to the interview, and just start talking with him about all the news that were published on that day. I would really like to see how he sees the world…
If I could reincarnate in a character it would be…
Roger Waters… One of the geniuses of our times, he has seen so many things happen in this planet, and despite all this, he stays brilliant, happy, modest…that is just enviable.
A phrase that follows you everyday
I am not someone very attached to phrases, but there is a life theory I try to follow, which is to help people that for whatever the reason, haven’t been as lucky as I have, for some things or others.

Colabora con una columna diaria en el diario mexicano deportivo Record, tiene un sitio llamado sopitas.com con poco más de 2 millones de visitas únicas al mes, ( y va por más!) y hasta hace cosa de un año, trabajaba en una estación de radio llamada Reactor 105.

Una estación de radio sería perfecta sí
Se pudiera tener y sobre todo respetar su identidad. Las de música quieren dar noticias, las de noticias quieren reseñar música y a final de cuentas, ni dan bien las noticias, ni tampoco le dan el espacio que merecería la música. Me queda claro que en un dial tan amplio como el que tenemos, hay cupo para todos, pero al mismo tiempo, el que las estaciones quieran abarcar cada vez más y más termina quitandoles expertise, identidad y sobre todo público que ya no escucha estaciones, sino programas en específico, pues las frecuencias se han encargado de hacerse imposibles de escucharse de manera continua por un periodo prolongado. Al menos claro, que se quiera torturar a alguien.
Un festival de música perfecto sería en
Creo que esto es muy subjetivo, pero un festival al que siempre he tenido ganas de ir, es el Isle Of Wight que se celebra en Inglaterra, o el Big Day Out que recorre Australia. Habrá quien prefiera Coachella, Glastonbury, Lollapalooza o el Vive Latino. Para mí, el festival perfecto, sería con bandas que uno nunca ha tenido la oportunidad de ver; The Who, David Bowie, Prince, etc. ¿La locación? Es lo de menos, pero ¿alguien le pondría un pero a Central Park en Nueva York?

Es lo más parecido que un hombre puede encontrar al verdadero amor. Vaya, apuesto a que ningún hombre, se compromete y entrega tanto a una mujer (aunque su mujer sea Scarlett Johansson) que como lo hace con su equipo de fútbol… y aún así, hay quien sólo dice que se trata de “un juego”.
